Meet your MLP guide and fellow travelers for a general trip briefing and Q&A.
At around 8 am you will start the day with a hike from Cusco to Sacsayhuaman. You
will have a fully guided exploration of the Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo archaeological
sites. At 11:30 am we will drive from Sacsayhuaman to Lake Piuray. Later, we will
enjoy lunch at the lake featuring fresh offerings from the local Piuray crops. In the
afternoon you will have the chance to do activities at Lake Piuray (Kayak / Stand Up
Paddle). We will visit a rustic farm-to-table dinner. Return to Cusco at 6 pm.
Overnight at MLP Hotel
Breakfast at the hotel. At around 7 am we will drive from Cusco to Maras. The first
activity of this day starts at 8 am with a Zipline in the Sacred Valley (approximately
4 hours including driving time to the site). Enjoy lunch in Ollantaytambo. At around
01:30 pm, your guided exploration of the Ollantaytambo archaeological site starts.
Later in the afternoon, we will have a scenic drive to Huacahuasi (approximately 2
hours). Once we arrive at the lodge, you will have dinner and a trip briefing.
Overnight at Huacahuasi Lodge.
Early breakfast and departure from Huacahuasi to Choquecancha. At around 8 am,
you will start hiking to Jaukani, which is considered moderately challenging and last
approximately 4 hours. After that, you will have time to rest and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Then, we will drive back to Huacahuasi, and you will have dinner in the lodge at 6
pm. Overnight at Huacahuasi Lodge.
Early breakfast at the lodge. You will have a scenic drive to the hike trailhead. This
hike starts from Ancasmarca to Totora. During this hike, you will enjoy a picnic at
lunchtime (approximately 4 hours). At around 13:30, we will move from Totora to
Calispuquio, where you will start a bike ride to Lamay Lodge. In the late afternoon,
you will have the time to enjoy the gardens and relax in the hot tub. Dinner at the
lodge. Overnight at Lamay Lodge.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will meet your guide. During this day, you
will have an amazing horseback ride in the Sacred Valley for approximately 6 hours.
At 15:30 pm, you will enjoy lunch at the lodge. Overnight at Lamay Lodge.
On this day, you will have breakfast at around 5:45 am. After that, we will depart
for Ollantaytambo train station to take the KM 104 train rail marker. Arrival. At 08:30
am you will begin the hike from km 104 to Machu Picchu, which lasts approximately
7 hours. Once we arrive at Wiñay Wayna, you will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch.
After lunch, we will continue our hike to Machu Picchu to catch a shuttle bus to Aguas
Calientes. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel.
*Note: Does not include a visit to Machu Picchu on this day; hikers will descend along
the perimeter of the citadel.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will take a Shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. At around 8:30
am, we will begin to hike up Machu Picchu Mountain*. Lunch at Machu Picchu
Sanctuary Lodge. You will have a guided exploration of the Machu Picchu citadel.
After the visit, you will have a train ride to Ollantaytambo and an evening drive from
Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
*Note: Tickets for Huayna Picchu Mt. (8,924’ / 2,720m) may be available subject to
additional cost. In the event that Huayna Picchu permits are not available for your
desired date, you may opt for a hike up Machu Picchu Mt. (10,112 / 3,082m), located
next to the Machu Picchu Citadel on the southern side.
